Meetings with a psychologist are vital in terms of support, a sense of empathy, and reinforcement in the detoxification process. However, routine psychological treatment is usually unable to penetrate the subconscious mind. The approach to the subconscious mind is deliberately locked. The paradox is precisely what is particularly harmful resides in the subconscious. Problems we are aware of, residing in the conscious, are solvable even if they are traumatic. The techniques that allow intrusion into the consciousness are meditation, hypnosis, and self-psychoanalysis methods, practices that in the West do not have enough emphasis on.
