A senior doctor treats me, but other than medications with severe side effects, he has no solution for my condition. When I asked him about alternative therapies, he claimed I was risking unscientifically based therapies.

Smokers and alcoholics are prone to chronic illness as early as 50 and over! Frequent visits to doctors can become very frustrating. Unfortunately, modern medicine does not know and does not have the tools to deal with chronic diseases and certainly not with addictions.

There is now a trend of more and more physicians recommending alternative (self-healing) therapies. In many hospitals, there is a department for alternative treatments. Yet, some physicians mistakenly see self-healing functional medicine as a threat rather than an opportunity.
