Which bread is the healthiest? 

Eating bread with a fatty spread on it, such as avocado, natural mayonnaise, tahini, butter, and others, is always advisable. There are many bread recipes. Most people do not bake their bread. Buying bread from a reliable source is essential. The best are small specialized bakeries that deliver organic whole-grain sourdough bread.

The primary criteria for healthy bread: 

  1. Only from natural ingredients and unprocessed flours.
  2. The leavening of the dough with natural yeast (sourdough only)
  3. Flours that are low in gluten or gluten-free.
  4. Healthy bread is easy to digest.

Most recommended bread types:

  • Sprouted, rye, spelled, or whole flour sourdough bread.
  • Sprouted bread is most recommended for everyone. Sprouting releases enzymes that break the grain shell. Sprouted bread has low gluten and is much easier to digest because enzymes start breaking the grain shell. (which is hard to digest. Sprout's bread is moist due to germination and requires heating in the toaster.

Not recommended:

  • Light bread and crisps are industrialized foods that are not satisfying or recommended. Avoid eating white flour and yeast bread; they disturb the gut flora balance.
