The answer is YES, but it largely depends on habitat, care, and nutrition it receives. Seafood is in the same health category as fish.

Shrimp.

Seafood is rich in proteins, omega-3 fats essential for proper immune function, and many nutrients. Seafood is not acidic to the gut (compared to meat and dairy) and is similar in most ways to fish.

  • The main problem is that most seafood is farmed in designated ponds. The quality of the seafood we eat depends mainly on the food quality, living conditions, and environment the animal receives.
  • The water must be clean and flowing, adapted to the level of salinity that the animal requires.
  • The food must be natural, similar to the natural food to which the animal is accustomed. Another necessary condition for quality food is that the animal has not received chemicals, various drugs, and hormones to accelerate growth.

The problem is that these givers are often unknown to the end consumer.
