Surprisingly, conventional modern medicine does not have a unifying philosophy or theory as does traditional Chinese or Ayurvedic (Indian) medicine.

The two dominant philosophical approaches to medicine, conventional modern medicine & self-medicine have many strengths, but also considerable weaknesses.

In the Medical Philosophy chapter, I try to examine whether it is desirable and possible to merge both approaches in order to achieve improvement in public health.
