There are hundreds of different diets, each somewhat different from one another. That can be confusing; at least it was for me.

All diets can be described by positioning on the appropriate axis. (All diets can be described using triangles in 3D.)

  1. Those that forbid eating one or more of the primary macronutrients or ingredients.
  2. A vegan diet VS a diet rich in animal protein. (And those in-between.)
  3. Raw vs. cooked food.

Non-genetically modified organic, unprocessed food is not a separate axis. (Not controversial.)

The proliferation of diets is not essential and does not stem from health needs. Ambiguity about the best diet serves many bodies with interests that are contrary to those of consumers.

The purpose of the food pyramid is to make recommendations for proper nutrition. However, it does not provide a complete picture.
